René St-Cyr Enterprise selects hardwood boards using the parameters set by the flooring industry. Each grade is defined by the wood’s appearance, specifically its color—which may or may not be uniform—and whether it has knots. Each grade is briefly outlined below to help you choose the one that best suits you.

Select & Better The Select & Better grade consists of boards that are generally uniform color or show slight variations. As a whole, boards are longer, lending the floor a more sophisticated, refined look.
Natural Natural grade boards range from very dark to light brown with fine pin holes. As the name suggests, this grade creates a natural appearance with a slight rustic touch for a cozy atmosphere.
Rustic If you want your flooring to have a rustic or country feel, then this is your grade. Made up of a combination of light and darker boards with knots, this grade consists mostly of short boards.

We advise to choose your grade based on the appearance, the effect and the atmosphere you are looking for. Whatever the grade you select, manufacturing, finishing as well as warehousing are executed with the same respect, which has made the reputation of René St-Cyr Enterprise for the last thirty years.
